If Jimmy Butler wasn't one of your favorite players already, the Miami Heat star is bound to be after this interview with NBA reporter Rachel Nichols.
When asked about the media's lack of coverage on the Heat entering the 2021 NBA season, Jimmy Butler responded the exact way that you would think the founder of Big Face Coffee would respond.
Butler explained that the media has already forgotten about the Heat's impressive 2020 playoff run and, for some reason, has counted them out. Teams that were more active in the offseason have gotten far more recognition, but that's pretty standard for Butler.
He also went on to say that, in terms of personal recognition, he understands why he hasn't been talked about as one of the premier players in this league.
“You’ve got some really good players that are much better than I am coming back – KD, Kyrie, Steph, KAT … I’d pick those guys over me too.” —Jimmy Butler

Way to be modest Jimmy.
When asked to clarify what he meant, there was no hidden agenda. Butler actually believes that Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, Stephen Curry, and Karl-Anthony Towns are better than him, hence the media attention.
It's rare to hear this kind of talk from an NBA superstar, but it's something that you'd expect to hear from Jimmy Butler.
Regardless of media expectations, Butler and the Heat are going to be a force to be reckoned with this season.
Losing Jae Crowder and Derrick Jones hurts their depth at the wing, but the emergence of Duncan Robinson and Tyler Herro gives them outside shooting that is unmatched throughout the league.
As for Jimmy Butler, you know exactly what you're going to get: great defense, leadership, brutal honesty, and updates on Big Face Coffee.
