Miami Heat superstar Jimmy Butler is not one to bite his tongue, especially when he feels like his teammates are not getting the recognition they deserve.

After the Heat toppled the Philadelphia 76ers, 108-104 on Wednesday, and ended their unbeaten home streak, Butler felt slighted after a reporter claimed that the Erik Spoelstra-mentored team only had one star in the team. The reporter was certainly talking about Butler, but he took it as an insult, given the fact that Miami's early success has been a product of a total team effort.

“This is a team of one star?” Butler said, per Michael Lee of The Athletic. “Who’s our star, Bam? I’ll take it. I’ll take Bam as our star any day. I ain’t worried about what anybody says. We’re content with who we are.”

Butler, of course, is right to deflect praise to the Heat's 22-year-old center Adebayo, who has had a breakout season in his third year in the league. The 6-foot-9 slotman has upped his numbers across the board with averages of 15.5 points, 10.6 rebounds, 4.6 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.3 blocks for the Heat, while also claiming his first ever Eastern Conference Player of the Week citation.

Adebayo turned in another all-around performance of 23 points, nine rebounds, five assists, two steals and two blocks in 34 minutes against the Sixers. Butler also had a solid outing of 14 points, seven boards and five dimes, while unheralded rookie Kendrick Nunn led the way with 26 markers.

Despite “lacking” superstars, the Heat has received major contributions from almost everyone in the roster and has amassed a 20-8 record (good for second place in the East standings).
