While the rest of us have been left engrossed by “The Last Dance, Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler has just revealed that he has not seen a single episode of the series.

Butler explained what he has been doing instead:

“I haven’t seen this MJ doc. I haven’t seen it,” said Butler during a recent Instagram Live interview, via Anthony Chiang and Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald. “And I’m just like you know what, everybody is watching it so I’m gonna go outside and work on my true calling and I just kick a soccer ball around.”

What a rebel. It's not as if he has tons of things to do during quarantine. The Heat swingman himself admitted that he has become bored out of his mind over the past month or so:

“Another day in the life. So bored,” Butler said. “… It’s the same [thing] every day for me. We’re in California. We wake up early as hell. So like we normally train at 5:30 a.m. and then we have not [expletive] to do for the rest of the day, literally.”

This makes it even more intriguing as to why the Heat star has made a concerted effort not to watch the famed documentary. Then again, perhaps he's waiting for the whole series to finish airing so that he can watch it all in one go?

It is worth noting, however, that Butler's contract with Jordan Brand recently expired. For some reason, both parties opted to part ways, and the 6-foot-7 swingman is currently a sneaker free agent. Could this have played a role in Butler's unwillingness to jump on “The Last Dance” bandwagon?

Who knows, but this is very on-brand for Jimmy Butler, who's admittedly a rather unique guy. Of course, he's also terrific at basketball, leading the Heat into playoff contention this season before the NBA went on hiatus.
