Miami Heat All-Star small forward Jimmy Butler says former NFL wideout Chad Johnson is his “favorite athlete of all-time.”

Johnson was kind of like the Jimmy Butler of the NFL, except way more talented. Chad was cocky and used to talk a lot of trash, just like Jimmy does for the Heat:

“He's easily my favorite athlete of all-time just because he was unapologetically him,” Jimmy Bulter told Carmelo Anthony on IG live about why he loved Chad Johnson. “He did not care…he don't care. He's never apologized for it.

“So he's always been my favorite athlete of all-time and I tell him that here in Miami. I told him I idolized him because of who you were and how you played the game.”

You can't help but notice that Butler is basically describing himself when talking about Johnson. His attitude and style of play is aggressive.

Fortunately, Butler is finally playing for the organization he's always wanted to be a part of: the Heat. Miami president Pat Riley has his new franchise player in the post-Dwyane Wade era and Butler is playing for a team that embodies his spirit.

Johnson lives in Miami now, so he and Butler run into each other often. The Heat had the fourth-best record in the Eastern Conference prior to the NBA suspending play due to COVID-19.
