Tyler Herro has starting aspirations. He recently doubled down on that request and even expressed his desire to be an All-Star someday. Pat Riley is known for giving advice to Miami Heat players. He even told Herro to go and win the starting gig. Herro recently commented on his relationship with the Heat executive.

“He (Riley) continues to give me advice every time I talk to him,” Herro said. “He always gives me a new book to read. And that's something I take from him.”

Tyler Herro is quickly emerging as an NBA star. He is fresh off of a 6th Man of the Year award and is one of the more well-known players in the league. However, there has been trade discussion revolving around Herro. The Heat have been linked to stars such as Kevin Durant and Donovan Mitchell. Many assume that Herro would be the centerpiece if those trades were to come to fruition.

But Herro does not appear to be worried about the trade speculation. He has expressed confidence in staying with Miami. Herro wants to start alongside Jimmy Butler for the Heat this season. And barring a trade, Erik Spoelstra will give him a chance to compete for a starting job.

Pat Riley is hopeful that Tyler Herro and Jimmy Butler can lead the Heat to an NBA Finals victory in 2022-2023. They reached the Finals in 2020 and are fresh off of an Eastern Conference Finals defeat. So this team is ready to reach the next level.

And starting Tyler Herro could help them get there.
