The Miami Heat reportedly are interested in trading for Washington Wizards All-Star point guard John Wall, according to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald.

The Heat have Goran Dragic on the roster and are fifth in the league in team salary cap. John Wall signed a four-year, $170 million contract extension that kicks in next season. He will earn $37.8 million next year.

One person who identified Heat interest in Jimmy Butler very early in the process — before it was widely discussed — spoke of Heat intrigue with Washington point guard John Wall, who reportedly is available.

But the Wizards would likely need to take at least one bad contract from the Heat, and that could be problematic. So it’s unclear if this could end up being a realistic scenario.

Wall is due $38 million next season, and then $41 million, $44 million and $47 million the following three years.

In 25 games this season for the Wizards, John Wall is averaging 20.4 points, 3.5 rebounds and 8.3 assists per game while shooting 43.8 percent from the field, 31.5 percent from beyond the arc and 67.6 percent from the free-throw line. The five-time All-Star revealed that he's been playing with a bone spur in his left heel.

Wall trains in South Beach during the offseason and is close with Heat legend Dwyane Wade. The Wizards look like a dysfunctional team again and there has been talk around the league that Washington could trade Wall or shooting guard Bradley Beal if a good deal comes on the table.
