The Miami Heat are unsurprisingly not having any luck finding a potential trade suitor for shooting guard Dion Waiters. The Heat have reportedly been trying to trade Waiters for some time, and these drama-filled last few weeks certainly haven't helped matters.

Via Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald:

One person in touch with the Heat said no palatable trade scenario had emerged for Waiters as of early this week. And it’s not worth Miami packaging an asset with Waiters to receive a lesser player in return.

That's just not good for both Miami and Waiters himself, who hasn't played a game this season due to his alleged unprofessional behavior. This does look like it has the makings of a drawn-out saga, which will do more harm than good for a Heat side that is undoubtedly looking to deal away the 27-year-old as soon as possible.

Another huge stumbling block is Waiters' current deal, which extends to the 2020-21 season. The former fourth overall pick is set to receive $24.7 million over the next two seasons, which is definitely quite a hefty sum.

Over the past three seasons, Waiters has averaged 14.0 points (on 41.4 percent shooting), 2.9 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 0.8 steals, while also connecting on 2.1 3-pointers per ballgame for the Heat. While these are indeed some serviceable numbers, it is quite understandable why teams are reluctant to take on Waiters and his baggage at this point in his career.
