Michael Jordan isn't as intense an owner as he was a player. Though the Charlotte Hornets owner made headlines earlier this season by giving guard Malik Monk a good-natured smack on the head during a game, Jordan normally holds the ultra-intensity that marked his playing career in reserve, instead cheering on his team from a seat near the Hornets' bench not unlike any of his ownership peers.

According to Kemba Walker, though, Jordan still brings out  a semblance of his maniacally competitive side behind closed doors, like during the All-Star starter's pre-draft workout in 2011:

“I remember he was just sitting on the side. I remember I was nervous, but I gotta try my best to impress him,” Walker recalled of Jordan during an interview with The Crossover's Chris Mannix. “I think I did. But yeah, it was a really fun workout. All I remember is that he was talking trash, which he usually does a lot. So he was talking trash on the sideline, but it was fun, it was a fun workout.

“They put two balls on the floor, and they were like trying to have us palm the basketballs,” he continued. “As I'm going, he's like, ‘Man, get out of here. You can't palm the ball like that. And I'm like, ‘Yeah, you right,' so I didn't even try.”

Michael Jordan would probably take a more tepid approach to Walker's pre-draft workout in hindsight. A free agent this summer, Kemba Walker will be one of the most coveted players on the open market, and previous reporting has indicated that MJ is “hellbent” on getting him to re-sign with the Hornets long-term.
