Teenage sensation LaMelo Ball's NBA dream finally came true several weeks ago when the Charlotte Hornets selected him as the third overall pick in the 2020 draft. He just put pen to paper on a huge rookie scale contract with the Hornets, and to celebrate, the 19-year-old decided to splurge on a custom set of grills.

Ball signed a four-year deal with the Hornets worth $35.5 million (with the final two years being team options), and clearly, he's already spending his money freely. Here's a look at his expensive-looking mouth jewelry courtesy of Bleacher Report on Twitter:

It wasn't indicated how much the grills cost, but judging by how extremely flashy it looks, this surely would have cost a small fortune. It will, however, barely make a dent on the amount of money Ball will be pocketing over the next few years, so from this perspective, I guess you could say that it wasn't too bad a purchase?

The folks over on the mean streets of Twitter were quick to criticize the youngster for splurging on something that may be unnecessary for most. Then again, we need to remember that Ball is just a teenager who just realized his dream of finally playing in the NBA. We could surely cut him some slack, right?

The important thing here is what he does on the basketball court. The new season will tip off very soon, and we should finally get a taste of what LaMelo Ball the player is all about.
