While LaVar Ball is certainly proud to watch LiAngelo make his debut for the Charlotte Hornets, he's not entirely satisfied with what he saw from his son and the team.

LiAngelo actually had a solid first game for the Hornets, putting up 16 points on 5-of-10 shooting. All of his makes, however, are from the 3-point line where he registered a 62.5 percent shooting clip.

Despite his son's brilliant outing in the eventual 93-86 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers, LaVar said he is not pleased with what they showed before pointing out the lack of energy and running from the Hornets.

“No,” LaVar said when asked if he is happy with the way his son played, per Jonathan Alexander of The Charlotte Observer. “I like to see running. It's too slow for me.”

It's understandable why LaVar Ball is not satisfied with the results, though. He probably wants LiAngelo Ball to really stand out in order to ensure that he would get a contract with the Hornets after the summer league.

Charlotte's lottery pick in the 2021 NBA Draft James Bouknight led the Hornets in scoring with 19 points on top of four rebounds and two blocks. Meanwhile, Kai Jones–the 19th pick–also recorded a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Fortunately for LiAngelo and LaVar, the Hornets still have three games left in Las Vegas Summer League. They'll play the Sacramento Kings next before taking on the San Antonio Spurs and Toronto Raptors. Hopefully, Gelo will be able to show more of the things he can do to impress his dad and  Charlotte.
