It was reported on Monday that Charlotte Hornets big man Montrezl Harrell is dealing with some legal trouble after he was charged for drug trafficking stemming from an incident back in May. Apparently, the former Sixth Man of the Year winner could be facing some prison time because of this infraction.

Matt Barnes has now chimed in on the Hornets center's debacle and we can't help but get a bit of a laugh out of the former's reaction:

“This is weak. 3lbs is a summer time smoke. Pound a month is how we use to burn,” Barnes said in his tweet.

Barnes is a known proponent of marijuana and he clearly isn't shy about promoting his affinity to the ganja. It seems that what he's pointing out right here is that the Hornets big man's issue is indeed unfortunate, given how Barnes considers 3 pounds of weed — the amount that was found in Harrell's car during a traffic stop back in May — as “weak.”

According to reports, Harrell could be facing up to five years in prison after he was charged with a Class D felony for drug trafficking. The 28-year-old is set to become a free agent this offseason and this issue could have a major impact on his future in the NBA.
