With Hurricane Harvey slamming the city of Houston hard, NBA players have taken to their social media accounts to raise awareness and ask their followers for help, and offer prayers for the victims. However for Gerald Green, he took it to a whole new level with his latest Instagram post, as he showed a lot of urgency with the video he made.

The Houston native made a desperate-sounding plea to his followers to lend a boat so he can save as many residents of the city as he can. He also reminded them to stay safe and that the roads are not safe.

“I need somebody with a boat that can help me go out and rescue people. There’s a lot of people that are in danger in Houston, there are a lot of people who [are] driving out on these roads. Don’t do it, man. Stay at home. I’ve been driving since yesterday, trying to convince people to get out to safety, it’s not safe … If anybody [has] a boat, I don’t care where you at, let me get to you.”

This definitely goes to show how much the former NBA slam dunk champion cares for his hometown and the people living there. The calamity also serves as a reminder that nobody is safe from it regardless of someone's stature and how much earnings they have. The good news is, it brings out the kindness in many, just like Green, who is finding a way to help the ones in need.
