The Miami Hurricanes are in the middle of making some big changes to their athletic program. They're currently looking for an athletic director and have been reportedly showing interest in the Oregon Ducks head coach Mario Cristobal. On Monday, Miami made a move with Manny Diaz amidst the chaos of the college football world.

According to Pete Thamel, “Miami has fired Manny Diaz.” This is massive news, considering how hard the Hurricanes have been pursuing Mario Cristobal. The school is attempting to get back to its former glory and the first step towards success has officially happened.

There has been no word from the Ducks or Mario Cristobal. Oregon's current head coach reportedly had a monster 10-year, $85 million offer to remain in Eugene. However, Cristobal is from Florida and has sentimental reasons why he might be considering taking the Hurricanes' coaching job.

Everything is hanging in the balance of Cristobal's decision. He's built a solid program in Oregon and has the boosters to continue coaching at a high level. It'd be interesting if he does take the Miami job, as the Hurricanes don't have the same recruiting power as the Ducks.

We'll see how this plays out, but for now, all eyes are on Mario Cristobal. He could stay in Oregon, continue building upon his already successful program, and remain in the playoff hunt for years to come. Or, he could become the Hurricanes' new head coach and start from scratch.

Look for him to make a decision soon, as the Hurricanes are clearly making moves with, or without him.
