The Iowa Hawkeyes managed to do the unthinkable on Saturday. With the team's back firmly pressed against the wall, while the Iowa State Cyclones had a 10-point fourth quarter lead, the Cyclones came roaring back for the win.

It was a game of complete and utter absurdity. If you thought of the Ernest P. Worrell movies were insane, you haven't seen anything like a little in-state rivalry gone right.

Trailing 31-21 at the start of the fourth quarter, Iowa outscored in-state blood rival Iowa State 23-10 the rest of the way to claim a 44-41 win in overtime.

Let that wash over your body like a cold shower after drinking too many adult-beverages the night before.

It marked the Iowa’s third-straight win in the series. This one was much different, as the previous two had come by a combined score of 73-20.

Apparently, this was the exception to the in-state rivalry rule.

Despite this being an in-state game, it was only the second overtime game played between the two programs, the first coming in 2011.

Here is the play most folks will remember forever even in their hearts (or, at least until Sunday):

After an exchange of punts, Akrum Wadley scored on a highlight reel worthy 46-yard pass-and-run from Nathan Stanley with 1:09 remaining in regulation.

Who yet knows what this means for either team for the rest of the season? Does Kirk Ferentz get his billionth contract extension? Will Iowa use this as momentum moving forward? Can Iowa State bounce back from this newly found depths of despair?

So many questions. No answers. All we know right now is that the Hawkeyes are better than the Cyclones, even if only on this specific Saturday and after a wild turn of events made it so.
