Jalen Ramsey is at it again. After bad-mouthing a good number of current NFL quarterbacks in his interview with GQ, the Jaguars star has now turned his attention to skill position players, specifically New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski.

In an interview with Mina Kimes of ESPN, Ramsey doesn’t think Gronk is quite as good as some people make him out to be.

“I don’t think Gronk’s good,” Ramsey says regarding Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski. “Let me say — I don’t think Gronk is as great as people think he is.”

Ramsey went on to expound that hot take with some tactical football analysis regarding Gronk's performance against cornerbacks.

“Any time Gronk has been matched up with a corner, he’s had a very bad game,” Ramsey said, “and that corner has had a very good game.”

To be fair to Ramsey, there is some shred of truth to his comments about Gronk and corners. But it should also be considered in proper context. It’s not Gronkowski’s strength to play on the outside, so quicker corners like Ramsey can have the advantage over him.

Gronk’s best utilized in the middle of the field, where his superior size and strength allow him to get the better of his opposition, whether they be corners, safeties, or linebackers. And as his production throughout his career has shown, he can dominate like no other tight end in NFL history.

Ramsey is still entitled to his opinion, and he clearly has a lot of them. But his dismissal of arguably the greatest tight end in NFL history in Gronkowski doesn’t seem to ring true.
