Transitioning into the NBA can be tough for NBA rookies, but Grayson Allen's transition with the Utah Jazz has been made easier by an unlikely source. Journeyman, Georges Niang has been crucial in Allen's development and he's using his experience as a bench guy in the league to help Allen prepare.

“He’s been helping me a lot. When we’re on the bench, we’re talking through stuff,” Grayson Allen said to Stephen Hunt of The Gazette about Niang. “He has more experience than me, so he’s helping me out and keeping me ready for when coach calls my number.”

Niang is showcasing his worth to the Utah Jazz and his commitment to the team. The Iowa State product is a fringe rotational at best and yet, he's still helping a younger bench guy grow and learn. It could be easy for some veterans to blow off Grayson Allen and let him figure things out on his own.

But Niang knows where he stands in the league and he knows that playing this role could help him in the future. Teams are always looking for bench guys who can produce in a pinch and won't harm team chemistry if they're relegated to a minimal role off the bench. Niang is clearly the type of player that a winning team would love to have at the end of the bench.

Grayson Allen and the Jazz will tangle with the Denver Nuggets on Saturday night as they look to take down one of the more impressive teams in the Western Conference.
