Rudy Gobert had a historic season for the Utah Jazz. You can take that statement quite literally with the three-time Defensive Player of the Year winner achieving a trio of first-time feats in what was a truly memorable campaign for him.
Gobert set no less than three records in both league and Jazz franchise history during this past season (h/t Utah Jazz on Twitter):
In the 2021-22 season, Rudy Gobert set an NBA record for highest single-season true shooting percentage (73.2%), became the first NBA player EVER to average 15+ points per game on 70+ FG% and the first Jazzman to lead the league in rebounding.

Talk about high efficiency for the Jazz big man. Gobert literally just set the most efficient season in league history. This proves that he's not just a defensive specialist. Gobert is also an absolute beast on the offensive end and he now has the numbers to prove it.
The Jazz star did not let up on his defense, though. For the first time in his career, Gobert finished the season as the league leader in rebounds with a career-best 14.7 boards per game.
Now wouldn't it be an absolute treat if he also bagged his fourth DPOY title this year? He's not exactly the frontrunner, but Gobert himself believes he deserves it.
