A couple of months back, Utah Jazz big man Rudy Gobert trolled a kid that drew a not-so-flattering sketch of the former two-time Defensive Player of the Year winner. As it turns out, the boy sent a couple of letters to Gobert after the drawing went viral.
The Jazz center shared the contents of the letter via Twitter, as he provided an update on what has become quite an endearing narrative:

First off, we have to commend Emmett here for his much-improved drawing skills. His latest sketch looks much more like the Jazz big man than the first one. While it is no masterpiece, it's a drastic improvement from the original work:

At least Rudy big man looks like an actual person in the latest version.
Kidding aside, though, you can't help but smile when reading the kid's letter. It's a simple, unadulterated message of admiration from a fan whose love for basketball remains pure. It sort of brings you back to the days when you yourself used to watch the game as a young kid.
Gobert himself seemed to have loved the gesture, and we're hoping he reaches out to the kid for a face-to-face meeting.
As for his basketball, Gobert has been his dominant self for the Jazz to start the campaign. In 13 games played this season, the All-Star center is putting up averages of 12.2 points, 13.3 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and a career-best 2.7 blocks per game. It is clear that the 28-year-old is making a run at another DPOY title this term.
