The New York Jets lost a close contest to the Houston Texans Saturday afternoon, 29 -22. After the game defensive back Jamal Adams had nothing but praise for rookie quarterback Sam Darnold.

Sam Darnold on the day was 24/38 and threw for 253 yards with 2 touchdowns and no interceptions.

Darnold did a lot of moving around the pocket. It was mostly was necessary because both J.J. Watt and Jadeveon Clowney were constantly pressuring him and often moving around the offensive line around all afternoon.

He did a decent job of anticipating the pressure and moving within the pocket when absolutely necessary. Darnold was consistently hitting on the screens and crossing routes as well as other short throws that you'd expect your average QB to hit. He consistently put the ball in the right spot for his wide-outs.

Overall he played very well for the Jets but it wasn't enough for them to come out with a win.
