New York Jets owner Christopher Johnson announced that head coach Adam Gase's job is safe for the rest of the season and beyond. Gase's first half-year with the Jets hasn't been successful as he has led the team to only two wins. However, he is going to get more time to prove he is the right coach.

“I want to assure you there will be no changes in coaches here,” Johnson said, via Brian Costello of the New York Post. “Adam has the trust of this team. He has the trust of Sam. He has Joe’s trust. He has my trust. He’s a good man. He’s a good coach.”

Johnson said he gave the team the same message last week before the team pulled off the big win over the New York Giants. He likes the way Gase is working with Darnold and believes the two will make a successful duo going forward.

“It’s the trust that I see,” Johnson said of why he believes in Gase. “Seeing him work with Sam, just as a small portion of this question, gives me a lot of confidence. Seeing him work with Joe, it’s a whole new dynamic in this building. It’s a really positive dynamic. They have the same vision for this team going forward. There are a number of reasons but those are two really big ones I felt confident about Adam as our coach going forward.”

Adam Gase has the rest of this season and the 2020 campaign to prove that he can be the long-term answer for the head coaching role for the Jets.
