Unfortunately for all football fans, Monday night's matchup between the Cleveland Browns and the New York Jets turned out to be a boring one. Cleveland, one of the most hyped-up teams in football, lived up to everyone's expectations. The Jets did not.

Backup quarterback Trevor Siemian started the game, and third-string signal-caller Luke Falk ended it. Monday night showed just how much New York needs starting quarterback Sam Darnold.

Luckily for Gang Green, Darnold is set to make a speedy return from his bout with mononucleosis.

While everyone plays worse with their backup quarterback, the Jets were particularly terrible. Siemian entered the game and promptly left due to a nasty ankle injury. He threw six passes, three of which were completed.

Without Darnold, the entire Jets offense falls apart. Throughout Monday's game, the Browns were able to key in on the run game, making life difficult for running back Le'Veon Bell. Bell played well, but he can't carry the offense on his back.

If the Jets want a shot at a winning record, they need Darnold in the starting lineup. It doesn't help that the Jets face a horrific upcoming schedule, with the New England Patriots, Philadelphia Eagles, and Dallas Cowboys as their next three opponents. Hopefully, Darnold is able to make his way back in time to salvage the 2019 season.
