New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson has been out of commission since Week 7 when he suffered a knee injury, but the rookie figures to be back in the fold in Week 12 against the Houston Texans.

Speaking to the media about the rookie quarterback's development, veteran running back Ty Johnson opted for a rather bizarre analogy, comparing Wilson to a dog. Per Connor Hughes of The Athletic, Johnson said Wilson is like a “pup who has grown into a bark” thus completing the transformation into “dog” stage.

If Jets fans needed to hear anything heading into the matchup against the Texans, it's that their quarterback no longer requires potty pads.

Wilson suffered a PCL injury against the Patriots in Week 7 and missed the Jets' next four games. Hopefully, the Wilson who emerges from this injury will be the dog version Johnson has described, because, going by his analogy, Wilson has been nothing more than a puppy throughout his first seven starts in a Jets uniform.

Wilson has thrown just four touchdown passes this season, to go with nine interceptions, including his Week 2 meltdown that saw him get picked off four times by the New England Patriots. The No. 2 overall pick from this year's draft has yet to live up to expectations in New York, but he has the chance to correct course with a big game against the Texans.

Johnson seems to think Wilson has made some important strides in terms of his development this season, now fans want that put on display on the field.
