If Jeff Hornacek’s quicker version of the triangle offense is going to work, he needs the personnel to make it happen.

The New York Knicks head coach has suggested that he will add pace to Phil Jackson’s preferred system and it is essential that his players display energy.

If there is a player on the Knicks' roster that knows about energy, it’s 31-year-old big man Joakim Noah. For the 2016-2017 season, Noah will be starting at center for his hometown organization and hopes to bring his physical, lively style of play to Madison Square Garden.

As the team prepares for the regular season, Noah has had the chance to practice with other members of the Knicks’ frontcourt, such as rookie Marshall Plumlee. Noah was full of praise for the young center, as per Marc Berman of The New York Post:

“I think ‘Plumlord’ is coming with great energy,’’ Noah said. “It’s really showed when he’s on the court. His minutes are positive.”

The praise from Noah means a lot to Plumlee and he clearly admires the former Chicago Bulls star:

“He likes the fire I bring,’’ Plumlee said. “It’s something he sees in himself and sees it in me. He’s trying to bring it out of me the best way possible. He’s the master of it — the guy out there who plays with tremendous passion but is a smart player.’’
