With 1:32 left in the fourth quarter of the game between the visiting San Antonio Spurs and Portland Trail Blazers, Jonathon Simmons showed off his mad hops and dunking prowess.

The 6-foot-6 shooting guard used the screen set by David Lee and drove hard to the basket, before elevating for a right-handed tomahawk slam over Meyers Leonard, making it a strong candidate for the dunk of the year. It left the home crowd inside the Moda Center in awe as he threw it down viciously despite getting fouled in the process.

The Spurs distributed the playing time to their bench players as the starting unit only received a maximum of 20 minutes of court action. Simmons played 12 minutes, finishing with seven points and one assist. With the second seed in the Western Conference already secured, it can be expected that head coach Gregg Popovich and his staff will continue to manage their players' minutes wisely.

Simmons may have made the incredible slam, but he still saw his team lose on the night, 99-98, with Noah Vonleh converting on the game-winning layup at the buzzer. San Antonio now have a 61-20 record, and will play their final game of the season on Wednesday when they visit the Utah Jazz.
