Russell Westbrook, as we now know, agreed to a 3-year $85 million contract extension with the Oklahoma City Thunder. Even without Kevin Durant, Westbrook decided to stay in Oklahoma with the Thunder to try to win it with them.

Speaking of Kevin Durant, he was asked today if he was planning on calling Russell to congratulate him on the new contract he has just signed with the Thunder. His answer is not what you'd expect.

Per Gary Washburn:

It's an odd answer considering the time that Durant and Westbrook had spent together in OKC. While KD is obviously occupied with the Olympics, it's a bit alarming to hear that he won't call his longtime friend.

Things obviously didn't end on the right note between them two, so Durant does just want things to cool off like he said. So, let's give him some time. The one thing that is apparent at this point is that people will continue to view Durant as the villain following this statement.
