After an eight-year wait, the time has finally come for Sacramento Kings legend Chris Webber to take center stage at the upcoming 2022 Basketball HOF. It's been a long time coming and it's great to finally see the 48-year-old get the respect and honor he rightfully deserves.

Obviously, this has gotten Webber a bit emotional.

“I always thought that I would be blessed enough, lucky enough, to be a Hall of Famer. I thought the résumé showed that, but no one is entitled to that. So every year [I didn't get in] it would hurt, and the main focus that I focused on was [to not] focus on who went in the Hall of Fame that year. For a while, it was keeping blinders on. Don't think about it, stay into work,” Webber told ESPN.

The Michigan alum had a fantastic NBA career as he established himself as one of the most formidable power forwards in the league as a five-time All-Star while he was a member of the Kings. Webber was an all-around force, dominating the paint with his scoring prowess while facilitating the floor at the same time with his incredible court vision. His jersey #4 was ultimately retired by the franchise after playing seven solid seasons in Sacramento.

“But when I got the call [this year], man, it was funny. It was just surreal,” he added. “I don't even know how to show it yet. And I'm worried it'll come out, all out that night, but it's a hell of a feeling, man. I thank God for that blessing,
