The inauspicious 2017-18 NBA season continues for the lowly Sacramento Kings. However, they recently made headlines after a cryptic tweet from veteran point guard George Hill after their 104-109 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks over a week ago.

Although Hill was adamant that the post was in regards to his lackluster performance that night, it seems there could actually be an underlying issue brewing in Sacramento. According to Tony Jones of The Salt Lake Tribune, the veteran is reportedly upset with the team's current direction after signing with them over the offseason:

“These are vets brought in to help a young team, and according to sources, were brought in with the promise of a team aiming to be playoff competitive.

But that promise was made to them by Scott Perry, who since left Sacramento and now makes personnel decisions for the New York Knicks. So the direction of the franchise has shifted since Perry left. An organization that brought in veterans aiming to win now is aiming to lose.

Not surprisingly, Hill isn’t happy, according to multiple sources”

Perry had been hired by the Kings in the offseason before leaving three months later to become the general manager of the New York Knicks. Now it seems his replacement, Brandon Williams, has different plans for the team.

Hill is not the only veteran who may have been coerced into signing with the Kings over the summer. Big man Zach Randolph and forward Vince Carter may have also been hoping to be competitive when they signed prior to the season. Although “Z-Bo” has managed to make his presence felt, Carter has had a rough time making an impact with such little playing time.

Hill's absence from Sunday's game versus the Toronto Raptors due to ‘personal reasons' has added to the already existent turmoil. As a result, his status with the team moving forward remains in question.
