Although reports suggested that the New York Knicks have not been in touch with Kristaps Porzingis since he decided to skip the team’s exit interviews, there seems to be no truth to it.

In fact, news has now emerged that they have been able to communicate with him, but only for a few times and very minimal contact has been made.

It can be recalled that the Latvian international surprised many when he skipped the exit interviews after the regular season, which made them think that he is no longer happy with the team and will most likely demand a trade. However, his brother made it known that he would love to continue his career in New York and that he loves the city, despite how the team treats its players.

Even with all the distractions and drama that surrounded the Knicks throughout the season, Porzingis still had a very solid campaign with averages of 18.1 points, 7.2 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 2.0 blocks per game.

The development can be considered as some good news for the Knicks' fans as they know the 21-year-old is still communicating with team officials in some way. It may not change what the team’s front office is planning for his future, as they may end up trading him this summer, but as long as lines are open, it could still lead to good talks and potentially a better understanding of the situation between the two parties.
