Derrick Rose is currently on his second stint with the New York Knicks, and he wants it to be different than his first time.

In a lengthy Facebook post, Rose shared that he has a new mentality this season after quitting the first time he joined the Knicks.

Derrick Rose was once an MVP in the NBA earlier in his career with the Chicago Bulls, proving to be one of the most athletic point guards fans have ever seen. However, injuries would hamper his career, causing him to look for a team that would allow him to find his role in the league.

After spending the first eight years of his career with the Bulls, Rose signed with the Knicks in 2016-17. The All-Star point guard recorded 18.0 points and 4.4 assists in 64 games in his first year in New York. But Rose iterated that he gave up during his time in the Big Apple that season and felt like he let the franchise down.

Luckily for Rose, he got a second chance with the Knicks after being traded from the Detroit Pistons to New York. While Rose is still a solid contributor, he's also become a mentor for rookies Immanuel Quickley and Obi Toppin.

In just four games with the Knicks this season, Rose has provided them with a much-needed spark off of the bench, giving them 13.0 points and 3.8 assists per game thus far. Despite feeling as if he quit on New York when he was with the organization in years ago, Rose is certainly making sure he uses it as motivation this time around.
