According to several reports, New York Knicks forward Kevin Knox has been selected as Lonzo Ball's replacement on the US Team in the Rising Stars Game during All-Star Weekend.

Ball, now 21 years of age, suffered a left ankle injury in a game against the Houston Rockets on January 19th. MRI scans that were taken later revealed a Grade-3 sprain. Barring any setbacks, The Lakers point guard is expected to be out of commission for up to six weeks.

Knox is certainly deserving of this honor. The former Kentucky Wildcat is showing a lot of promise in his rookie season. In 46 appearances with the Knicks (28 starts), he's racked up averages of 12.5 points on 33.9 percent shooting from the field (33.9 percent from beyond the arc) and 4.2 assists in 27.9 minutes per outing.

Knox suffered a sprained left ankle at the end of October, but he's managed to bounce back in a big way. He returned to action on December 1, 2018, scoring a (then) career-high 26 points, four rebounds, four assists, one steal and one block in a 136–134 overtime win over the Milwaukee Bucks. As a result of his fine play, Knox was given the NBA's Rookie of the Month award for December.

The Mountain Dew Rising Stars Game will tip off at 9:00 p.m. ET, with TNT having live broadcast coverage. For a full schedule of this year's All-Star events, fans can head over to this link from NBA.com.
