Patrick Ewing is considered by many as one of the greatest New York Knicks players of all time. As it turns out, however, not everyone in the city knows who he is. In particular, security personnel in Madison Square Garden seem to have a problem with being able to recognize the Knicks legend.

Recently, Ewing went on a tirade about not being given the respect he believes he deserves in the stadium that he called home for many, many years as a player:

Ewing was clearly unhappy with his experience in MSG, and as it appears, this is not an isolated incident. In his statement above it seems that this problem has been something that he has had to endure on multiple occasions:

“I thought that this was my building,” Ewing stated. “And I feel terrible that I'm getting stopped, accosted, asked for passes. Everybody in this building should know who the hell I am.”

Patrick Ewing is indeed one of the greatest to ever put on a Knicks uniform and there's no denying that he deserves to be given VIP treatment by the team he served for no less than 15 seasons.

It's hard to fathom how security personnel are unable to recognize a towering figure such as Ewing (he is 7-feet tall). The Hall of Famer clearly agrees with this notion, which is why, by his admission, Ewing has already felt the need to go to extreme lengths by calling team owner James Dolan just to be able to prove his own identity.
