New York Knicks sophomore Mitchell Robinson has nothing but praise for new teammate RJ Barrett.

Robinson strongly believes that the Knicks found a gem in Barrett, who was selected third overall in the 2019 NBA Draft. The young center is convinced that the former Duke University standout will turn heads in the league in the coming years based on what he saw in Barrett's first few practices with the team.

“The kid can play,” Robinson said of Barrett via the Knicks' official Twitter account. “He goes at everybody strong. If he's a rookie, and he's doing that, I think he'll have a great career ahead of him.”

The 19-year-old guard was selected behind Duke teammate Zion Williamson and Murray State star Ja Morant. Barrett was considered as the best pure scorer heading into the 2019 NBA Draft. Despite playing in a stacked Duke roster last season, he averaged 22.6 points on top of 7.6 rebounds and 4.3 assists in 38 games for the Blue Devils.

Fans will have their first glimpse of Barrett in a Knicks uniform in a Summer League game on Friday. Curiously, Barrett and the Knicks will be going up against Zion Williamson and the New Orleans Pelicans, which will be the first of many intriguing encounters between the former college teammates.
