The New York Knicks fell to the Miami Heat Friday night with a final score of 115-100. In the loss, RJ Barrett recorded a career-high of 46 points. The second-year small forward hit six three-pointers and 13 field goals. However, his lack of productivity at the free-throw line is “pissing him off.”

Knicks beat writer for The Athletic Fred Katz tweeted Barrett's frustration Saturday afternoon.

The 21-year-old made 14 of 22 free-throw attempts. His FT shooting percentage was 64 percent Friday night, noticeably lower than his season average of 69 percent.

Barrett said he made 200 free throws before the end of the Knicks' practice on Saturday, a skill he continues to work on.

The Knicks are 12th in the Eastern Conference with a deep losing record of 25-35. They have lost eight of their last nine games, and their schedule isn't getting any easier.

New York will host the Philadelphia 76ers Sunday afternoon. The Sixers will host the Knicks in Philadelphia three days later to finish off the teams' back-to-back matchups.

Sunday afternoon is the best chance for the Knicks' to break their four-game losing streak. The Sixers are heating up with their new addition of James Harden, who will make his home debut when the Knicks come to Philadelphia next Wednesday. The energy of the Wells Fargo Center and the Sixers' home advantage will be tenfold that night.

After facing Philadelphia twice, the Knicks face the Phoenix Suns, who are currently in first place in the West. To beat teams like these and become a dominant player in the NBA, Barrett needs to step up and fix the free-throw facet of his game as soon as possible.
