Despite their early season struggles, it does not appear that the New York Knicks are already prepared to hit the panic button just yet. According to Mike Vorkunov of The Athletic, the team's front office are still calm and collected at this point, and do not have any intention of putting their players on the trading block just yet.

The Knicks, despite their record, don’t seem intent on starting any fire sale. If they do start trading, according to league sources, the expectation is that it likely wouldn’t come until after the new year. That would give the team more time to play together after so many changes to the roster and now with a new coach after the organization fired David Fizdale last week.

While this does seem like a very logical approach, let's not forget that this is the New York Knicks we're talking about here. Operating under sound logic has not exactly been the team's strong suit of late, and the recent firing of former head coach David Fizdale is further proof of the overall struggle within the organization.

Then again, this could all be part of an elaborate plan set out by the front office as part of their contingency efforts following what was nothing less than an epic failure of an offseason. Maybe the Knicks are playing the long game here, and know exactly what they're doing. On the contrary, though, probably not.

Nevertheless, some form of credit needs to be given to the Knicks here for not hitting the panic button without a clear cut plan. This might be coming sooner rather than later, but at the very least, it seems that they're taking a rather meticulous approach in this regard.
