Julius Randle‘s position on the New York Knicks may not be as secure as one would think. When the Knicks hired former CAA sports agent Leon Rose to be their new president on March 2, it was seen as a big plus for Randle who is represented by CAA and had a prior relationship with Rose.

However, according to Mark Berman of the New York Post, Rose is open to either trading him or declining the team's option on his contract for the 2021-22 season if either decision would be in the team's best interest.

It is important to distinguish that although Randle was represented by CAA, Rose was not his primary agent and that several other Knicks players such as Elfrid Payton and Frank Ntilikina are also represented by the agency that covers many players across multiple leagues and sports.

As for Randle himself, the 6-foot-8 big man signed a big, three-year, $63 million contract with New York this season after spending the previous campaign with the New Orleans Pelicans.

Despite the Knicks' poor 21-45 record prior to the season being postponed, Randle has continued to put up big numbers and show off the talent that got him drafted seventh overall in 2014.

In 32.5 minutes per game, the 25-year-old was putting up a team-high 19.5 points to go along with 9.7 rebounds and 3.1 assists while shooting 46.0 percent from the field and 27.7 percent from deep.

With the former Kentucky Wildcat being talented and still young, the Knicks would likely fetch a pretty solid return from any team willing to trade for Randle.
