The New York Knicks are looking for a point guard and are high on Oklahoma City Thunder floor general Dennis Schroder, according to Stefan Bondy of The New York Daily News.

The NBA trade deadline is coming up, so if the Knicks want to acquire Schroder from the Thunder, they better get moving on a deal.

One thing to keep in mind: the Knicks are looking for a point guard and, according to a source, are high on OKC’s Dennis Schroder.

Schroder comes off the bench for the Thunder and is considered one of the best sixth man contributors in the NBA. The 26-year-old has appeared in 49 games this season and is averaging 19.1 points, 3.9 rebounds and 4.1 assists while shooting 47.2 percent from the field, 38.8 percent from beyond the arc and 83.8 percent from the free-throw line.

The Knicks are 13-36 on the season. They are in 13th place in the Eastern Conference standings and won't make the playoffs.

Schroder is making $15.5 million this campaign. He's owed the same amount in 2020-21 and becomes an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2021. The German floor general has experience as a starter in the NBA, as he was the starting point guard for the Atlanta Hawks before the Thunder acquired him from Atlanta.

The Knicks are in action on Saturday taking on the Indiana Pacers. They are looking to snap a two-game losing streak.
