While there are some who consider New York Knicks big man Joakim Noah as a has-been, the 33-year-old is certainly not on the same boat. The 6-foot-11 center recently shared a clip on his Instagram account featuring his summer workout of choice.

Noah has turned to pool training to help in the recovery of his oft-injured knees. As seen on the video, the former Defensive Player of the Year seems to be getting in shape ahead of the upcoming season.

Noah also accompanied the clip with a heartfelt message to American big-wave surfer Laird Hamilton, who is seen in the video helping Noah with his exercise. This summer, Noah linked up with the 54-year-old surfer. According to Noah, he credits Hamilton for helping him get back to game form as the start of the new season looms.

After playing three seasons at the University of Florida, Noah was drafted ninth overall by the Chicago Bulls in 2007. He spent nine productive years with the Bulls, wherein he established himself as one of the most imposing players in the paint. Voted twice as an All-Star, Noah averaged 9.3 points on 49.0 percent shooting, 9.4 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 0.8 steals, and 1.4 blocks for the Bulls.

In the summer of 2016, Noah signed a monster four-year deal with the Knicks to the tune of $72 million. In two seasons plagued with injuries and a lengthy suspension, the three-time All-Defensive Team member has only played a total of 53 games for his side. He is set to earn close to $40 million over the next two seasons, so hopefully, he is able to at least show some return on the Knicks' huge investment.
