It’s a battle of who could care less in Phoenix tonight, with the two worst teams in the league facing off in the battle for draft position. The most notable highlight from this tank-off has been some rookie-on-rookie crime perpetrated by second-round selection Mitchell Robinson of the Knicks against #1 overall pick Deandre Ayton.

Right now, the New York Knicks are by themselves in last place in the NBA with a horrendous 13-51 record. However, many Knicks fans are thinking that all this losing will pay off with two marquee free agents (Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, anyone?) or the drafting of generational prospect Zion Williamson.

The Suns, to their credit, actually defeated the juggernaut, Milwaukee Bucks, the other night and are looking a bit feistier of late with Kelly Oubre Jr. and Tyler Johnson in the fold after the trade deadline.

Ayton was the consensus top choice around the league along with Luka Doncic in terms of long-term upside as well as immediate impact, and Robinson’s stock slid considerably after he did not participate in college basketball last season.

Front offices seemed to question his motor and commitment to the sport, which is why he fell all the way to 35th overall in the 2018 NBA Draft.

That selection by the Knicks is looking like a home run, as Robinson has been the Knicks’ best player in recent weeks, and his defensive dominance is certainly underscored by his post defense against Ayton — a player that was selected 34 spots ahead of Robinson in last June's draft.
