R.J. Barrett, the No. 3 overall pick of the New York Knicks, sauced up the reigning Rookie of the Year Luka Doncic during the Knicks/Mavericks game on Thursday night:

Barrett left Doncic in the dust with a nifty spin move and clobbered home a dunk in his off-hand (the right). This was a big game for the Knicks rookie, as he was facing off against his teamā€™s former ā€œface of the franchiseā€ in Kristaps Porzingis, who is now on the Mavs.

After producing a tremendous Consensus All-American freshman season at Duke, Barrett has picked up where he left off by simply producing buckets at a fairly high clip. Currently, Barrett had logged per-game averages of 16.0 points, 5.8 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 1.4 steals while playing 35 minutes a game for New York.

Those numbers are certainly worthy of early Rookie of the Year talk, though the depth of the 2019 class might make it tough for him to win it.
