Even before he entered the NBA, Lonzo Ball already drew a lot of attention for his impressive stint with the UCLA Bruins, and the numerous controversial statements his father, LaVar, made over the past months.

Ultimately, the Ball family got their wish as Lonzo was selected second overall by the Los Angeles Lakers back in June. He is now slated to represent his hometown team, and is expected to receive a lot of playing time in his rookie season.

While there is no doubt about his talent as a basketball player, many of the team's fans are concerned that his father may cause some issues with his teammates and coaches. The 19-year-old addressed that recently, via Kurt Helin of NBC Sports, where he made it clear that it won't be the case, as they already have a better understanding of who he is as a person.

“Nah. Speaking for my teammates, they already know how he is so it’s never been a problem, and I don’t think it’s going to be a problem,” Ball said.

LaVar has been infamous for making some downright absurd comments, but is also being thought of as a marketing genius for bringing plenty of publicity to his family and their Big Baller Brand. Despite all the trolling comments directed at him, he has still been able to successfully make a lot of headlines, and in the end, get what he wants.

Although this coming season will only be the first one in Lonzo Ball's professional career, there's already a lot of expectations on his shoulders, especially after the Lakers traded D'Angelo Russell and handed over the starting point guard duties to him. He has so far proven his doubters wrong with his MVP run in the Summer League, and will definitely look to continue his stellar play once the regular season starts.
