Los Angeles Lakers guard Alex Caruso is pumped up for the second half of this season, per Mike Trudell of Spectrum SportsNet,

“I’m ready to go … I’m in a good place. A little break was all I really needed,” Caruso said. “After about 4, 5 days, I was ready to get back in the gym.”

Caruso's confidence in himself extends to the team, according to Spectrum SportsNet's Mike Trudell.

“I think we’re going to be ready. We battled through the first half of the season, which was going to be the test for us. Hopefully we can get healthy soon and get it going.”

Caruso has come a long way from being undrafted, going to the D-League in 2016, and eventually becoming an NBA champion last season after the Lakers topped the Miami Heat in Orlando. While it does not show in his social media followers, Caruso is one of the more liked players around and has and continues to be a subject to countless memes, most of which paint him in a positive light.

This season, the former Aggie averages 5.8 points, 2.8 boards, 2.4 assists, and a steal per game. These are modest numbers and he sees limited minutes, but he is one of those players whose impact goes beyond the box score. He serves as an extra ballhandler and playmaker. Caruso displays high energy on the court and shows hard-nosed defense against the opposing teams' guards.

The Lakers are in the third spot in the crowded Western Conference with a record of 24-13, which is made even more impressive considering the games Anthony Davis missed, due to injury.
