Los Angeles Lakers superstar Anthony Davis is not threatened at all by Joel Embiid and the rest of the Philadelphia 76ers in the event that they face each other in the 2021 NBA Finals. This, even after the Sixers handed the reigning champs their first road loss of the season, 107-106, at Wells Fargo Arena on Wednesday.

Anthony Davis and the rest of the defending champs got a glimpse of just how good the Sixers are now after their offseason shake-up. The Purple and Gold used a 13-0 run in the fourth period to take a one-point lead with a few ticks remaining on the clock. However, Tobias Harris shut the door for their comeback with a cold-blooded jumper to seal the win. The Brow actually had a shot to win in regulation but his desperate half-court heave didn't even make contact with the rim.

The Lakers didn't exactly do themselves any favors by shooting just 16-of-25 from the free-throw line as a team. Davis was a big culprit on that end, as the usually reliable foul shooter missed a couple of crucial ones down the stretch.
Earlier, Lakers legend Earvin “Magic” Johnson tweeted that the Sixers versus Lakers match-up could be a preview of the Finals this season. This could very much be the case, considering the two teams were at the top of their respective divisions prior to their highly-anticipated match-up. With the win, the Sixers (13-6) further strengthened their hold of the top seed in East, while the Lakers (14-5) slipped one spot and are now behind the Utah Jazz in the West.
