Inside the NBA host Charles Barkley was at it again on Sunday. While he did not guarantee anything during the broadcast, he did make a bold claim during the halftime break between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Denver Nuggets about Anthony Davis not having that “killer mentality.”

Well, the Lakers big man just proved Barkley dead wrong after Davis' tremendous performance in the clutch for L.A., including an astounding game-winning triple to lift the Lakers 2-0 up in the series.

First, some evidence. Here is Barkley's statement during halftime:

Anthony Davis' heroics on Sunday proved Barkley completely wrong — again. The 27-year-old Lakers star did not only hit the game-winner for L.A. at the buzzer — with his side down one point — but he also happened to score his team's last 10 points to close out the game. If that isn't a killer mentality, then I no longer no what is.

Ry Cole of The Athletic pretty much summed up Barkley's batting average when it comes to his basketball predictions (and general insights, I guess):

Davis ended the evening with a game-high 31 points on 11-of-23 from the floor, to go with nine boards, two assists, a steal, two blocks, and just one turnover in 39 minutes of play. This follows his 37-point outing in Game 1 against Denver, which clearly proves that AD is playing on a whole different level right now.

Had it not been for Davis' game-winner, the Nuggets would have tied the series at 1-1 after an amazing fourth-quarter comeback. This is the type of shot that defines a series, and Davis did just that for L.A. on Sunday. Sorry, Chuck.
