In the absence of LeBron James, Los Angeles Lakers Anthony Davis literally stepped up on the clutch as he soared for a mighty game-winning block  on Denver Nuggets guard Facundo Campazzo.

With about 10 seconds remaining on the clock and the Lakers leading 93-89, Campazzo was able to free himself from the LA defense to launch a 3-pointer. … Or so he thought. Davis quickly tried to cover the Nuggets guard and was successful as he was able to tip the shot and give the Purple and Gold the possession to get the much-needed victory.

It was undoubtedly one of the biggest plays of the game, especially for a Lakers team that blew a 14-point lead midway through the final quarter.

Anthony Davis finished the contest with one of the best games he had since his return from calf injury, recording 25 points, seven rebounds and three blocks. He was also fairly efficient from the floor, making 9-of-19 shots from the field and 6-of-7 of his takes from the charity stripe.

While the Lakers have struggled as of late as they slip in the standings, it is certainly great to see AD get his rhythm back. It was the main problem when they lost three straight to the Washington Wizards, Sacramento Kings and Toronto Raptors, but it's clear the All-Star big man is slowly getting over the rust of being sidelined for more than 2 months.

Hopefully, Davis will be able to keep building on his brilliant game to elevate the Lakers and keep them out of the play-in tournament. After Monday's win, Frank Vogel's squad climbed back to fifth in the West with a 37-28 record.
