The Los Angeles Lakers' season is already over, much to the disappointment of fans. It has been a tumultuous season filled with problems and bad performances. During their final game against the resting Denver Nuggets, it looked to be more of the same from them, as they fell behind by 17 points.

However, Lakers rookie Austin Reaves wasn't having any of that talk. He led the team to a furious comeback attempt in the fourth quarter, capped by this epic hustle play. After pressuring the Nuggets' ball-handler, Reaves stole the ball and took it all the way for a nice finish to send the game to overtime. (via ClutchPoints)

The Lakers would eventually complete the comeback attempt in overtime, winning 146 – 141 in the extra five minutes. Reaves led the way for the team with a career-best performance, scoring 31 points alongside 15 rebounds and 10 assists for an insane triple-double. Both teams rested their regular starters for this game.

Regardless of how meaningful this game is, it has to be an encouraging sign to see these young Lakers played. Reaves and co. played with a tenacity that has not been seen from this team all season long. Hopefully, that energy will carry over to the veterans next season, as they hope to bounce back from this disappointing campaign.

However, they'll be embarking on that journey with a different skipper to lead them. Shortly after this game, Lakers coach Frank Vogel is reportedly being let go by the team. It will be interesting to see how the new coach will handle this roster.
