Dennis Schroder found himself in the middle of a maelstrom of hate after he flubbed his extension negotiations with the Los Angeles Lakers. Now, he was forced to sign a one-year deal with the Boston Celtics for the bargain price of $5.9 million.

While everything feels like a lost situation for Schroder, he found valuable support from someone who's been with him since day one: His wife.

Ellen Schroder posted an emotional message on her Instagram Story, warning haters that her husband's decision will prove everyone wrong (via Lakers Daily).

“I'm so proud of my husband that he made this decision to stay true to himself and to fight for his goals and his vision! I know not everyone understands this. They would choose money before anything else. But let me tell you: Show some love, be patient, and watch what will happen next.”

Curiously though, Schroder arguably put money before anything else during his contract dealings with the Lakers, turning down a lucrative $84 million offer. But perhaps he learned a valuable lesson about the business side of the NBA, which can really be downright cruel.

The message of Schroder's wife also sounded like a plea more than anything else, as her husband continues to bear the brunt of all the ridicule, hatred, and jokes these past few days.

While Dennis Schroder may still stew on the unexpected turn of events, at least he can now focus on joining the Celtics and coming back with a strong resolve. For sure, his wife will be by his side every step of the way.
