The Los Angeles Lakers and Dwight Howard reportedly have a mutual interest in a potential reunion, with the former All-Star big man excited about the prospect of returning to LA and playing alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

Howard played for the Lakers during the 2012-13 campaign and then left the following season to join the Houston Rockets. In his lone season donning the Purple and Gold, Howard averaged 17.1 points, 12.4 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.1 steals and 2.4 blocks in 76 games.
While there were concerns about Howard's mentality and attitude, the veteran center has claimed on multiple occasions that he has matured and that the ego he once had is already gone. The main issue about him now, however, is his ability to stay healthy.
Last season, Howard played in only nine games for the Washington Wizards due to a glute injury. While Dwight claims that he is now in the best shape of his career, it should still be a cause of concern for the Lakers should they make a move for the 33-year-old center.
The prospect of Howard playing alongside LeBron and Davis is definitely exciting, especially since the three-time Defensive Player of the Year has never been surrounded with the amount of talent the Lakers have. However, bringing him to LA might prove tricky considering that he still has two years left on his contract.
Howard was traded to the Memphis Grizzlies this offseason, so the Lakers can only acquire him if they trade for him or if the Grizzlies buyout or waive him.
