Dwight Howard has bounced from team to team after being traded from the Orlando Magic, giving him the reputation of a bad teammate. Now in his second stint with the Los Angeles Lakers, he wants to clear the air and address the rumors that have followed him ever since Kobe Bryant called him soft.

The center appeared on “In Depth with Graham Bensinger” to talk about the issues that have plagued his career. He was confident in addressing the allegations that he is a problem in the locker room:

“The one thing that I really hated was just hearing people say that I was a cancer in the locker room or I'm not good to have around teammates,” Howard said (h/t to Bleacher Report's Paul Kasabian.) “It really affected me for a while.”

However, there have been multiple reports that claim otherwise about Howard. Kasabian listed down the instances teammates considered him toxic.

His three years with James Harden in Houston didn't produce any relevant results. There is the famous quote that Hawks players shouted jubilantly over their phones when they learned Howard was traded to Charlotte. There are also stories that he didn't get along with his Charlotte teammates.

However, it cannot be denied that he is still a productive center regardless of his attitude in the locker room. He has averaged 17.4 points and 12.6 rebounds in his 15 seasons in the league. He put up 17.1 points and 12.4 rebounds per game on almost 58% shooting during his first rodeo with the Purple and Gold.

Dwight Howard now has a chance to redeem his career with a championship contender in the Lakers. He knows he cannot act up with LeBron James and Anthony Davis on the team. He will have to put his head down and work hard if he wants to salvage his image.
