Detroit Pistons icon Rasheed Wallace found himself on the receiving end of social media mockery after his rather shocking take on Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James.

In a recent appearance on the Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast, Wallace claimed LeBron wouldn't be as successful as he is today if he played in his era. While he didn't call the Lakers star “soft,” he also admitted that James wouldn't have been the beast he is today back then.

“He probably would’ve done good with his physical stature, with him being bigger than the majority of the rest of the players. So he probably would’ve held his own, but I don’t think he would be as successful as he is now. It’s a whole different era back then. I couldn’t necessarily say that he would’ve been a beast but I think he would’ve held his own,” Wallace said.

Of course, everyone knows what Rasheed Wallace is saying. After all, he still played in a time when physicality in the NBA was at an all-time high and height mattered more than anything else with the popularity of post-up plays.

However, Wallace might have forgotten that LeBron James actually played in the better part of his “era.” Sheed was in the NBA from 1995 to 2013, while LeBron was drafted in the league in 2003.

In fact, he dominated Wallace's Pistons at one point, scoring 48 points in Game 5 of the 2007 Eastern Conference finals.

Fans were quick to remind Wallace of that after his take on the Lakers forward.

LeBron has yet to react to the remarks made by Wallace, but it doesn't look like he needs to with fans and experts alike reminding the one-time NBA champion how the Lakers leader dominated the NBA during his younger years–when the league was still governed by big men and tough defenders.
