The Los Angeles Lakers are just two wins away from capturing the 2020 NBA championship. Should the Purple and Gold franchise capture ring banner no. 17, however, a portion of Laker nation doesn't believe Kyle Kuzma deserves a ring.

A fan created a petition that says if the Los Angeles wins this year's NBA title, the Lakers shouldn't give a ring to the 25-year old. More than 3,000 people have signed the petition as of this writing.

The internet is undefeated.

It's understandable as to why some Lakers fans want this to happen. Kuzma has failed to live up to the lofty expectations Los Angeles had for him this season. Many billed the stretch four to blossom as the Lakers' third star next to LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

After averaging nearly 19 points per game in his sophomore campaign, the 6-foot-8 forward struggled with consistency, putting up just 12.8 points on 43.6 percent shooting this 2019-20 season. Obviously, Kuzma had to take a backseat with the arrival of Davis this season. It seems like he had a tough time adjusting to a more limited role than he did in his first two seasons.

It's pretty much been the same narrative for Kuzma in the postseason, where he is averaging just 10.1 points on nearly 44 percent shooting from the field and just 31 percent from beyond the arc.

Nonetheless, it seems like Kuzma's lack of consistency hasn't affected the Lakers all that much. Los Angeles is steam rolling through the playoffs with a 14-3 record overall and a 2-0 lead in the NBA Finals.
